This structured program allows aspiring pilots to potentially earn their Private Pilot Certificate in the same environment as our University flight students. Regardless of the student’s flight experience, this program is designed to provide the knowledge necessary for qualified students¹ to successfully pass the FAA Private Pilot knowledge, flight, and oral exams. However, if the student has previously attended our SunFlight Solo program, they typically finish this course in a more efficient manner.
Tuition includes supervised housing, on-campus meals, course fees, ground lab instruction, flight materials, and books.
Students must be 17 years old by August 1 to enroll in the SunFlight Private Pilot Program. Additionally, all participants must obtain an FAA Medical/ Student Pilot Certificate prior to submitting an application².
*Final completion of certificated rating is not guaranteed. It is based on each students' abilities, and unforeseen circumstances, such as weather. In the event of a cancelled flight, we will do our absolute best to modify remaining flights and adjust the schedule to accommodate previously scheduled flight time.
